DGAA recently took over the Drum fishery near Dalswinton. This is a 7 acre loch stocked with Rainbow Trout. Fish are stocked around the 2.5 - 3lb size but the loch also holds many grown on fish from previous years including Tiger and Brown trout. Rainbows up to 10lb have been caught.

The loch has recently undergone many improvements including the addition of a flushing W.C. a new sheltered seated area and picnic bench. The committee has carried out a lot of maintenance on the Loch since we took it over a month or so ago. The banks have been strimmed and cut, weeds have been removed from the water and the loch is looking beautiful again.

Tickets can be purchased at two outlets in Dumfries: "Reel Em In" and "McMillans tackle shop, both in Friars vennel, Dumfries. The Friars Carse Hotel also sell tickets for the Drum:  http://www.friarscarse.co.uk/

Drum Loch is 6 miles northwest of Dumfries off the Kirkton road. The easiest access is from the side road at the north end of Dalswinton village and following the blue markers. The fishery is signposted.
