About DGAA

The D&G Angling Association

Dumfries and Galloway Angling Association is a fishing club based in Dumfries, South West Scotland. Our beat includes numerous holding pools and access to the water is good. We welcome visitors and new members

There are many great fishing locations throughout Dumfries and Galloway and we control a variety of productive waters on the River Nith and its major tributary the River Cairn.  Given the correct water levels, there are few Scottish rivers which can match the quality of Salmon, Sea Trout and Brown Trout fishing to be had on the River Nith.

The River Nith

Our 2 miles stretch of the lower Nith is just upstream of Dumfries, almost the whole length of the main tributary. The River Nith is one of Scotland’s most productive rivers, both for salmon and sea trout, making it a particularly attractive to fish.

The River Cairn

The Cairn is an unspoilt small spate river. We have over 10 miles of mixed bank fishing. Suitable for the Fly, Worm and Spinning dependant on conditions.

Drum Loch at Dalswinton

DGAA has now taken over the Drum fishery near Dalswinton. This is a 7 acre loch stocked with Rainbow Trout, the loch also holds many fish from previous years including Tiger and Brown Trout.
